How to Make an Event Banner for Free (5-Minute Beginner Guide)
Event announcements, opening news, sale promotions β every time you need a banner, hiring a designer or opening complicated software feels like a hassle. This guide shows you, step by step, how to make an event banner for free in your browser even with zero design knowledge. No install, no sign-up.
Step 1 β Start with your content
A good banner starts not with design but with your message. Open the Banner Maker and you'll see an input form on the left and a live preview on the right. Here's what to do first:
- Title: the key phrase that catches the eye (e.g., "Grand Opening Event")
- Intro line: one or two lines supporting the title
- Event cards: organize benefits and conditions card by card
Wrap any word you want to emphasize in *asterisks* and an accent color is applied automatically. For example, typing *20%* off everything makes only "20%" stand out.
Step 2 β Design it all at once with a preset
The fastest approach is to click a ready-made preset. Presets like "Premium Gold," "Neon Cyber," and "Dark Minimal" apply a professionally combined theme color, background, effects, font, and gradient all at once. Pick one you like, then tweak just the colors if you want.
To adjust manually, you can combine 16 theme colors, background layers (light rays, spotlight, bokeh, and more, layered together), and a text gradient (with adjustable angle).
Step 3 β Polish with a logo and stickers
If you have a brand logo, upload and place it. Adding decorative elements like crowns, ribbons, or coins from the sticker library gives a plain banner a focal point. Click any element and an edit panel appears on the right so you can adjust position, size, and rotation right away.
Step 4 β Save it (PNG or an animated banner)
For a static image, save as PNG. Set the scale to 2x for a crisp result. If you need an eye-catching animated banner, turn on animation effects (light sweep, glow pulse, etc.) and export as WebM or GIF. WebM is high quality and small β great for the web and messengers β while GIF plays anywhere but is limited to 256 colors.
Practical tips
- Save a template: save your finished banner as JSON, and next time just change the numbers and text to reuse it in 30 seconds.
- Check on mobile: switch the canvas ratio (1:1, 9:16, etc.) to see how the banner looks on social media and mobile.
- Reduce file size: if your saved PNG is too big, convert it to WebP with the Image Converter to shrink it dramatically.
